Impact of audiovisual media in the educational process of Language and Literature

The main purpose of the research was to determine the influence of audiovisual resources in the teaching-learning process of Language and Literature in sixth grade students of the Zoila Alvarado de Jaramillo School, in order to promote meaningful learning. The population consisted of one teacher and 34 students of sixth grade of middle school. A descriptive study with a non-experimental field design was applied. According to the results, 88.94% of the participants affirmed that the audiovisual resources always facilitated a better understanding of the contents, 8.82% stated that they sometimes managed to understand the knowledge, and 2.94% indicated that they never understood the material presented in the area of Language and Literature through media such as radio and television. It was concluded that the use of audiovisual resources for teaching-learning in Language and Literature allowed to achieve significant learning, promoting in students the development of their visual cognitive area, as well as skills, abilities and creativity.
